Positions Available

Dates: The 2009 season begins with Staff Training on Saturday, June 20, 2009, followed by 7 weeks of camper sessions, and ends on August 15, 2009. Negotiation of dates is possible, though not optimal.

Cabin Counselor/ Activity Leader
Requirements: (College age & +)
Responsibilities: Live in cabin with campers, lead activities in one or more activity areas.
Salary: $900- $2000.  With LGT &/or WSI, add $100-$300

Junior Counselor/Activity Leader
Responsibilities: Assist with all areas of cabin life and activities with other staff.
Salary: $800- $1200

Kitchen Assistant
Experience helpful
Responsibilities: Assist with all areas of Food Service and kitchen maintenance under direction of the Food Service Manager.
Competitive salary or hourly wage

Housekeeper/Groundskeeper
Responsibilites: Routine upkeep of Great Hall, Bathhouse, etc. (common spaces). Mowing & yard work.
Salary: $800 - $1200

Resident Nurse
Requirements: R.N. Preferred, First Aid, CPR, & Maine License required
Responsibilities: Plan & implement all aspects of wellness & safety at camp following MD’s protocol. Administer medical care & first aid to all camp community members as needed.
Salary: Negotiable. (Barter for tuition is an option).

Program & Management Specialists
Responsibilities: Oversee all workshops in one Activity Area. Areas include Arts & Crafts, Camp Craft, Faith Development, Performing Arts, Sports & Games, Office Asst.
Salary: $2000-$2500.

Important Information for all staff applicants:
- A complete & accurate current Health History (within 6 mo. of employment) and Medical Exam Report, signed by licensed medical personnel (within 24 mo. of employment) on the form provided, is required of all staff members.
- Use or possession of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substance is not permitted at Bishopswood.
- Certification in Standard First Aid, CPR, & Infant & Child CPR are suggested for all staff persons. Compensation is adjusted accordingly.
- To serve as an Aquatics Staff member, one must hold a minimum of ARC Lifeguard Training (LGT), Water Safety Instructor (WSI), or equivalent. Compensation is adjusted accordingly.
